Purpose
SAND BARRIER TA is an alcohol-based, fast-drying surface stabilizer developed to prevent defects such as surface crumbling and sand adhesion on mold surfaces.
Formulated with a special high heat-resistant resin, it simultaneously improves mold surface hardness and suppresses surface defects.
Compared to conventional products, its lower viscosity enhances workability and enables faster drying, contributing to improved production efficiency.
It also reduces gas generation during pouring and is highly effective in preventing burn-on and surface deterioration.
Using an environmentally friendly ethanol-based solvent, it achieves both safety and fast-drying performance as a high-performance product.
Features
| Alcohol-Based Fast-Drying Type | Dries quickly, enabling efficient operations. |
|---|---|
| Formulated with High Heat-Resistant Resin | Reduces gas generation during pouring, preventing burn-on and surface defects. |
| Enhances Mold Surface Hardness | Stabilizes the mold surface and prevents defects such as sand adhesion. |
| Low Viscosity for Improved Workability | Spreads well during application or spraying, allowing for uniform coating. |
| Uses Environmentally Friendly Ethanol-Based Solvent | Low odor, helping to improve the working environment. |
How to use
2. Spray or apply evenly onto the mold surface.
3. Dries immediately after application due to its fast-drying properties.

Surface Stability Test
Surface Hardness / Strength Test
Green sand (50 g) was formed into a cylindrical shape (φ45 × 35) using a hand press, and 5 g of SAND BARRIER TA was applied.
After standing for 30 minutes at room temperature (25°C), the surface hardness was measured using a scratch hardness tester.
| Treatment Category | Test Results |
|---|---|
| With SAND BARRIER TA Applied | No damage observed when tested with a scratch hardness tester |
| Without SAND BARRIER TA | The needle deeply scratched the surface |
Sand Drop / Adhesion Test
Green sand (50 g) was formed into a cylindrical shape (φ45 × 35) using a hand press, and 5 g of SAND BARRIER TA was applied.
After standing for 30 minutes at room temperature (25°C), moistened filter paper was pressed against the cylindrical surface, and the adhesion of sand to the filter paper was observed.
| Treatment Category | Test Results |
|---|---|
| With SAND BARRIER TA Applied | No adhesion observed |
| Without SAND BARRIER TA | Adhesion observed across almost the entire surface |
