Purpose
SAND BARRIER is a water-based surface stabilizer that coats mold surfaces with a special polymer.
It enhances moisture retention of the mold, effectively preventing defects such as sand adhesion, erosion, and penetration caused by drying.
It also provides anti-rust properties, contributing to extended mold life and stable casting quality.
As it contains no powder, it prevents nozzle clogging and is easy to handle.
Designed to be safe and non-hazardous, it is also environmentally friendly and improves the working environment.
Features
| Protects and Stabilizes Mold Surfaces | Coats sand molds to prevent defects such as sand adhesion and erosion. |
|---|---|
| Prevents Sand Cracking by Improving Moisture Retention | Produces a smoother casting surface and stabilizes molding quality. |
| Helps Prevent Peeling and Surface Defects | Also effective in preventing peeling of mold coatings. |
| No Nozzle Clogging | Powder-free formulation ensures stable use even with spray application. |
| Designed with Safety in Mind | Non-hazardous, not subject to PRTR regulations, and not subject to the Industrial Safety and Health Act. |
How to use
◼︎ Use as-is without dilution.
◼︎ Spray or apply evenly onto the mold surface.
◼︎ Adjust the application amount depending on mold size and humidity conditions.

Surface Stability Test
Green sand (60 g) was formed into a cylindrical shape (φ45 × 30) using a hand press, and 5 g of SAND BARRIER was applied (at room temperature, 25°C).
After standing for 24 hours, moistened filter paper was pressed against the top surface of the cylinder, and the adhesion of sand to the filter paper was observed.

| Treatment Category | Test Results |
|---|---|
| With SAND BARRIER Applied | Little to no adhesion observed |
| Without SAND BARRIER | Adhesion observed across almost the entire surface |
