Purpose
SAND BARRIER TA20 Spray is a fast-drying, alcohol-based surface stabilizer spray developed to prevent defects on mold surfaces.
The effect of its special heat-resistant resin enhances mold surface hardness and prevents defects such as sand adhesion, erosion, and penetration.
It also uses a highly heat-resistant resin that helps suppress gas generation during pouring.
Effective in preventing burn-on and surface deterioration, it contributes to a smooth and high-quality casting finish.
As an aerosol type with excellent quick-drying properties and workability, it allows for uniform, even application without uneven coating and dries rapidly.

Surface Stability Test
Surface Hardness / Strength Test
Green sand (50 g) was formed into a cylindrical shape (φ45 × 35) using a hand press, and 5 g of SAND BARRIER TA20 was applied.
After standing for 30 minutes at room temperature (25°C), the surface hardness was measured using a scratch hardness tester.
| Treatment Category | Test Results |
|---|---|
| With SAND BARRIER TA20 Applied | No damage observed when tested with a scratch hardness tester |
| Without SAND BARRIER TA20 | The needle deeply scratched the surface |
Sand Drop / Adhesion Test
Green sand (50 g) was formed into a cylindrical shape (φ45 × 35) using a hand press, and 5 g of SAND BARRIER TA20 was applied.
After standing for 30 minutes at room temperature (25°C), moistened filter paper was pressed against the cylindrical surface, and the adhesion of sand to the filter paper was observed.
| Treatment Category | Test Results |
|---|---|
| With SAND BARRIER TA20 Applied | No adhesion observed |
| Without SAND BARRIER TA20 | Adhesion observed across almost the entire surface |
